Immerse yourself in the inspiring surroundings of Joshua Tree for an exclusive, hands-on retreat with legendary producer and engineer Joe Chiccarelli (The White Stripes, U2, The Strokes, Alanis Morissette, The Killers, Elton John, Frank Zappa, Jason Mraz, Journey, Tori Amos and The Shins among others). In this masterclass, Joe will guide you through his recording, producing, and mixing processes, sharing his expertise every step of the way.
What to Expect
Interactive Workshops: Track, produce, and mix a band alongside Joe Chiccarelli. Follow his entire workflow, from capturing an authentic performance to shaping the mix.
Production & Mixing Insights: An in-depth exploration of Joe’s mixing techniques, both digital and analog.
Discussion & Playback of Past Work: Watch as he takes you through multi-track sessions from past recordings with artists like Morrissey, Alanis Morissette, and Cayucus, among others.
Serene Studio Environment: Work in a stunning, fully-equipped space surrounded by breathtaking landscapes of the Joshua Tree desert.
Exclusive Hospitality: Enjoy four nights of boutique accommodations and dining, designed to provide comfort, connection and focus throughout your stay.
Studio Discounts: All participants will get discounts on future recording sessions booked at Gatos Trail Recording Studio in Joshua Tree.
Dates
May 4. Participants arrive and check in followed by a welcome dinner. *If it’s not possible for you to arrive on May 4 we will work to accommodate you.
May 5 - 7. Each day will consist of full day in-studio workshops with breakfast, lunch and dinner served on-site.
May 8. Guest to check out by 11am on the morning of May 8. *If you need to depart on the evening of May 7 we will work to accommodate you.
*4 nights of overnight accommodations will be included for out of town participants. Guests can check in after 3pm on May 4 & Check out by 11am on the morning of May 8. More details will be provided upon application submission.

There are public buses between Los Angeles and Palm Springs.
A shuttle between Palm Springs and the studio will be available on May 4th and 8th.
